Scottish Highland Festival

Instead of my normal get-up-and-clean-rush-off-for-a-meeting saturday, hubby and I headed south for a Scottish Festival.  We normally go to one up in the mountains, but this one is smaller and closer.

Hubby, of course, had to dress for the day…

Said “Hello” to the King…

Watched some dancers…..

Listened to some music…

Looked at swords.  Too bad our sword wall is already full…

Saw from pretty tapestries…

Visited the Clan tents….

Saw interesting Scottish dogs…

Cheered on the sword fights…

Watched the Caber Toss……

And the Hammer Throw…

Watched spinning, weaving, and lace-making….

Watched the Parade of Clans…….

Oohed and Ahhed over some raptors…..

Had to get some Scottish Shortbread…

Traditional, Macadamia and Lemon.  I’m not usually fond of lemony things but this stuff is good!

Visited my absolute favorite potter and got two new tea  mugs…

It was a short morning, but it was fun.  Hope you’re having a great weekend!
