Dishwashers, Grocery Lists, and Other Assorted Oddments

Does anyone else suffer from my particular malady? No, not that I don’t have a dishwasher – I do.  But, I can’t seem to load the doggone thing properly to save my self.

It’s true!  I keep telling hubby and dil-to-be that they do a much better job at loading the dishwasher than I do.  And it’s not just because I personally would rather UNload than LOAD a dishwasher any day.  They really do a better job.  I’m spatially challenged.  I always end up with dishes leftover in the sink, while they never do.  It’s really quite sad.

And speaking of dishwashers, I had to add dishwasher soap to my grocery list for this pay period.   I always start on my list at the beginning of the week because it gives me time to make sure everything makes it on the list and I can gather any coupons needed.  My list this time is out of control!    This is what it looks like so far.  Are you ready?  Here goes in no particular order…

dog treats

baking soda

pinto beans

navy beans

green beans

egg noodles

spaghetti sauce

bath tissue

travel gel

green chilis

chicken boullion granules

ground cumin

chili powder

snack bags

peanut butter

canned chicken

lemonade mix

canned tomatoes

tomato sauce

dry milk

blackeyed peas

sour cream

dishwasher soap

lunchmeat ham

lunchmeat roast beef

lunchmeat pastrami

That’s it so far.  See what I mean?  Out of control.  There’s not a lot of meat on the list this time, but it is still a huge list.  I know it’s mostly staples, but good grief!  And yes, I know there are things on the list that I could make myself.  Please remember I work outside the home and only have a limited amount of time for making from scratch.  I am working on it though.  In fact, I have a dog biscuit recipe I’m planning on trying out this weekend.  Those things are expensive!!! Sigh.  Hopefully, I will stay in budget despite the number of items.

I had my follow up appointment with my eye specialist today.  We decided to continue with the antihistimine eye drops and do warm compresses for at least six weeks.  My eyes are not cured of their excessive watering, but they are definately doing much better.  I’m glad he didn’t suggest surgery right away.  Messing with my eyes bothers me.  I read too much and do way too much on the computer to have something happen to them.

It was a long and busy day today so I’m off to do a bit of relaxing.

Your grocery list looks better than mine though I don’t usually write down everything I am going to get. I have never in my life had a dishwasher.

There are days I just give up and do the dishes by hand rather than mess with trying to load the dishwasher. It’s just easier sometimes. And this is the first house that I have had a working dishwasher. If I don’t write everything down, I WILL forget something important (like milk) and have to go back out for it. I try to avoid that, I’m lazy that way.
