Survival Mom Book Review

Wow!  What a treasure trove of information!  I was a little hesitant to purchase Survival Mom to be honest.  I have read a lot of survival blogs and survival books and I really wondered if there would be anything new in this book. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Survival Mom is a comprehensive resource of survival information.  Yes, you can find the same information if you take the time to surf through dozens of survival blogs or read lots of other survival/preparedness books.  However, this book pulls all of it together and puts it into a fun, informational, do-able format.  Plus, it’s written by a woman for women.  It’s not all about “beans, bullets, and bandaids”.

I have personally taken a yellow highlighter to the book and colored it up nicely.  There are sidebars of information tidbits, quotes and at the end of each chapter there are forms for you to make you own family’s preparedness plans.

There are sections on water storage, sanitation, food storage, your home base, living without electricity, safety, finances and evacuation.  Then there is the appendix – yet another treasure trove of information.

Is this the only preparedness/survival book you need?  No.  I don’t think so.  Is it the best place to start?  Absolutely.  Is it good for seasoned survivalists/preppers?  Yes.  There is something for everyone in this book.  It is not the be-all-end-all for survival/preparedness, but it makes a great start and gives some unique suggestions for the old hands.

I would completely recommend this book to anyone interested in preparing their family for emergencies of all types.  It is comprehensive and well thought out and well written for ease of reading and use.  I love it.
